Fairytale Princesses

I think my four year old daughter loves seeing the princess cakes almost as much as I enjoy making them! Tonight I finished up two princess cakes - one Snow White and one Ariel. Both are Yellow-Almond-Sour Cream cakes made with the Wilton Wonder Mold and buttercream icing. Just pay no attention to Ariel's hair...I had to tie it up to keep it out of the way while I was decorating. I'll let the customer take it down to fix it tomorrow since it hangs down her back ;)

Mermaid Cake

I made this mermaid cake for a second birthday. I think the "doll cakes" using the Wilton Wonder Mold pan turn out so great - I remember having one for a birthday when I was a child. I just love the look of the waves on the doll cake, the seashells, the mermaid's tail...it all came together so perfectly! The cupcakes were made to match the cake. I made chocolate for the tops of the cupcakes in the shape of seashells to go with the theme. Aside from the chocolate on the cupcakes and the doll body - the cake and cupcakes are all decorated with buttercream.
