Sesame Street Cupcakes
These cupcakes were super fun to make! The mouths are Oreo cookie halves, the eyes are marshmallows, and the noses and ears are M&Ms. Everything else is buttercream frosting.

Easter Cupcakes
Easter cupcakes are so fun! Two dozen cupcakes - half yellow, half chocolate. I tried out some new swirls for the buttercream frosting - The pink is tip 1M, the purple is tip 2D, and the green is tip 2C. I think tip 1M is still my favorite!
I made the carrots out of the pre-colored fondant; the leaves are white chocolate "clay" that I colored green.
The eggs are also made out of white chocolate "clay" and decorated with my usual buttercream frosting.
Many many thanks to The Frosted Cake N Cookie for the inspiration! There are some great instructions complete with pictures on how to make the carrots! I improvised from the fondant, but the starting point was great! I also started to attempt the bunnies from the link above, but the humidity today just was not working in my favor :(

A Daisy Day
I had a request for a birthday cake decorated like an Easter egg. The customer wanted a white base with pastel springtime colors for the egg. She also wanted some cupcakes with daisy flowers on them. Spring is such a fun time to be decorating cakes to go with the blooming flowers, warmer days, Easter eggs and Easter bunnies, and sunshine!
This is a Devil's Food oval cake with cream cheese filling and all buttercream frosting.
The cupcakes are Devil's Food with a tip 1M buttercream swirl and buttercream daisies made with tips 104 and 5.

Bunny Cupcake trials
I've been scouring the internet for cute bunny cupcake ideas. I have several upcoming orders for easter themed cakes and cupcakes but none of them are what I had in my head! I guess I have to get creative for myself sometimes too ;)
I had some leftover frosting, so I baked some cupcakes yesterday. I tried out two different (yet very similar, lol) techniques for making some bunny cupcakes with the colors and materials I had on hand. The cupcake with the pink frosting has a large marshmallow sliced width-wise, and then I cut into that length-wise to give the ears the split down the middle. The cheeks are two mini marshmallows, the eyes are two nonpareils and the nose is an upside down heart sprinkle. The cupcake with the green grass frosting is two slices of a large marshmallow, cut side dipped in red sugar (I didn't have pink on hand...), and then the same upside down heart sprinkle with marshmallows for the nose and cheeks, and nonpareils for the eyes. I wish I had more frosting...this is literally exactly what I had left so I was struggling to make it last to do just these two cupcakes! If I did these again, I'd use pink sugar instead of red, and do all the ears like the one on the left in the picture. I'd probably even put another nonpareil under the cheeks for a little tongue poking out!

Flower and Caterpillar
This is by far one of the most fun cakes I've made! The flower cake is yellow almond sour cream with all buttercream icing. I used the Wilton Dancing Daisy pan for it. The cupcakes are egg and nut free, with buttercream icing. I star piped the flower with tip 16, used tip 47 for the stem and grass, and used tips 14 and 6 on the cupcakes. The caterpillar eyes are Hershey's Kissables, and the antennae are candy grass. It's nose and mouth are icing. I couldn't fit a dozen cupcakes on the cake board, so the extras are on the side ;)

Giant Cupcake
Another "friend of a friend" order - this time for a second birthday party! The colors she wanted were pink and green. I made a giant cupcake (these can be SO cute!) and two dozen regular cupcakes to match. Simple and pretty!

Monster Cupcakes
These are some of my favorite cupcakes to make! They are so fun and can be individualized fairly easy. Plus, who doesn't love some candy with their cupcakes?!
These were for the kids at a party....the adults got some yummy coconut cupcakes with a simple swirl on top and some shredded coconut (no pics of those though...whoops!)
Made with buttercream frosting with pull out stars of various sizes (I think I used tips 18 and 21 and then the grass tip), mini marshmallows for the eyes, M&Ms for the nose, and Hershey's Kissables for the mouth. Cute!

Tiger Cupcakes
Fun little buttercream tiger cupcakes for a scout birthday party/meeting. I love the grass tip!
I think I used tip 5 for the head, tip 3 for the snout, and tip 1 for the accents (eyes, ears, whiskers, etc).

Arrr Matey! Pirates!

I am pretty sure the pirate cake and cupcakes were some of my favorites I've ever made. I love the color combination with the blue, white and red. I'm so pleased with how these turned out! It always amazes me what you can do with buttercream. Plus, the mom of the birthday kids is a photographer, and she snapped this fantastic photo of the finished product. Thanks Andrea!
